Qatar has reiterated its commitment to assist Pakistan in addressing climate vulnerabilities in sectors such as health, education, food security, water, and energy. This affirmation came during a meeting between a high-level Qatari technical delegation, led by Colonel Ahmed Abdullah Al-Abdullah, and Romina Khurshid Alam, the Prime Minister's Coordinator on Climate Change, in Islamabad on Thursday. The meeting focused on collaboration in climate risk management, environmental conservation, water management, energy, forestry, and disaster risk management.  The Qatari delegation pledged comprehensive technical and non-technical support to help Pakistan combat climate change and achieve its environmental conservation, national disaster risk management, and flood protection goals. Also Read: Putin offers enhanced energy supplies to Pakistan The delegation informed the PM's coordinator about ongoing efforts to aid Pakistan in coping with climate change.  Romina briefed the delegation on the government’s initiatives to enhance climate resilience and protect the lives and livelihoods of vulnerable communities.  She emphasised that Pakistan is facing severe impacts of climate change, including heatwaves and devastating floods during the monsoon season, affecting various sectors of the economy. Colonel Abdullah praised the Pakistani government's efforts in environmental conservation, climate risk management, and disaster management.  Romina expressed gratitude to the Qatari delegation for their pledged support in addressing climate change and achieving environmental conservation goals.
