Ahle-Sunnat Wal Jamaat has announced its plans to stage sit-ins at 60 different locations across Karachi, starting tomorrow, in protest, Express News reported on Monday. The demonstrations are being held under the guidance of senior leaders, including Allama Maulana Muhammad Ahmed Ludhianvi and Allama Aurangzeb Farooqi. According to the party’s spokesperson, sit-ins will take place at key locations, including Liaquatabad Super Market, Nazimabad, Saeedi Market, Nagan Chowrangi, and several other areas. The protests will extend across the city, with gatherings planned at spots like Korangi No. 5, Sukh Chakkar, Gulshan Chowrangi, and Sharae Faisal. The demonstrations are scheduled to begin on Tuesday, with preparations for the protests already completed, according to the spokesperson. Other notable locations for the sit-ins include the highly trafficked areas of Defense Mor, KDA flats in Surjani Town, M9 Motorway, and several key roundabouts and intersections. MWM vows to continue peaceful sit-ins until Parachinar demands met Meanwhile, Majlis-e-Wahdate Muslimeen (MWM) leader Allama Hasan Zafar Naqvi has said that the sit-ins are peaceful and do not represent political groups. The Sindh government should not make us fodder for political gain. We will end the sit-ins if the people of Parachinar do. He expressed these views in an emergency press conference at the Numaish Chowrangi sit-in. Speaking at the presser, Allama Naqvi said that MWM realises the trouble caused to the citizens, that is why there is no full call for the sit-in yet. If a call for sit-ins is given across Sindh, the government will not be able to stop it, he said, warning the authorities not to put undue pressure on the Jafariya community. He said that the community will not tolerate anyone’s dictatorship, and the protest sit-ins will continue. Naqvi said that they have been sitting at the Numaish Chowrangi sit-in for six days, and the sit-ins are peaceful and free from sectarianism, where people of all faiths and religions are coming to express solidarity. "We have no demands for negotiations; if the people of Parachinar end their sit-in, so will we. The protests have been held on the appeal of Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, and will end upon his call. All organisations of Jaffariya community are participating in the protests." Naqvi further said that all the sit-ins going on in the city are peaceful, raising voice for the basic problems in Parachinar. He lamented that basic supplies in the troubled region cannot be met with helicopters, as the areas hots a population of 500,000. He said that it is not a sit-in of any party, it is a sit-in of the oppressed, where everyone is participating, including Ahle Sunnat communities, who have set up water camps for the demonstrators.
